The house is a customized version of EQ’s Charlotte model, with 2127 square feet above grade, and another 700 finished square footage on the lower level.
Although the table and seating area in the lower level are occasionally used by the other residents, you will be able to use them most of the time as your own semi-private space.
We are looking for a female or male, friendly, clean, mature, and considerate, who will take good care of the home and appreciate a quiet retreat.
This home and location would be ideal for a commuting professional, contract consultant, or parent or grandparent who needs to be close to family in Orleans or east-end Ottawa.
About the housemates: The home is occupied by a non-drinking, non-smoking, vegetarian semi-retired male professional in his 60s (me) who typically uses the house Tuesday to Thursday, and by a female in her 50s upgrading her special needs teaching credentials. I am a quiet, reflective and friendly professional writer and small business owner. I have another place in the Gatineau Hills, where I spend most weekends and some weekdays.
About the place: Stunning large gourmet kitchen with a gas stove, large fridge, large island with bar stools, lots of cupboard space, separate pantry; fully furnished living room and dining room; gas fireplace; engineered hardwood flooring and ceramic tile on the main floor.
The location: Close to Millennium Park (10-minute walk), O-Train Trim Station (5-minute drive) (opening late 2025). We are also near the #25, 30, 33, and 39 bus routes.
Shops and services: We are a 15-minute walk from a shopping plaza at Trim and Innes, with a Sobey’s, Starbucks, 9-Round Gym, Tim Horton’s, several restaurants, and numerous other amenities. We are close to many other stores and services on Innes, Trim, and Tenth Line Roads, and a 10-minute drive from Place d’Orléans shopping mall.
The bedroom: 13’6” x 10’8” with a large (6’0” x 2’0”) closet; furnished with a queen bed and mattress, and side table.
Bathroom: large, full bathroom, for your private, exclusive use.
What’s included: Driveway parking, high speed Internet, second floor laundry, full kitchen, designated food storage space, pots, pans, dishes, and utensils.
What’s not included: Bedding, Ottawa Hydro (electrical, including air conditioning), and Enbridge Gas (heat and hot water). These utility bills will be split three ways. They average $80 per month per person, from about $50 in the spring and fall to about $110 in the winter.
Available extras: There’s a furnished spare bedroom upstairs available for guests up to 4 days per month @ $85/night. Garage parking with EV charging for a small vehicle is available for $65/mo.
To be discussed: We will need to share in cleaning common areas, putting out trash and recycling, and snow clearing, and/or come to agreement regarding sharing of costs for maintenance services.
